“A note from our founders”
Hi, my name is Veronica. I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2008 at the age of 26. I would call myself a serial entrepreneur, with a few businesses under my belt.
Back then, I used to wonder what my colleagues who were moms did at home. I would think, “How hard can parenting be, right? Why would a new mom need 3 months to ‘recover’ at home? Don’t they get bored? Isn’t motherhood easier than running a business or working full time?”
Fast forward to 2019, when I became a mother to a wonderful little boy, Alex, and then to 2021, when I had another beautiful child, Gabriel. Long story short, my life changed irrevocably in an instant, and they became my world.
And that’s when I got the answers to the questions I had asked myself all those years ago.
Nope, motherhood is not easy. Heck, it is way harder than running a business or having a full-time job.
After 6 months, my body is still in pain, I haven’t had a single full night’s sleep, and there are 1001 things to do during the day. Physically, my body is a mess, mentally, my mind is on constant an overdrive with worry. Emotionally, I have days of ‘highs’ and many, many days of ‘lows’. “It’s just hormones” said my gynae. Pfffttt…
And no, it doesn’t get ‘easier’ as my children grow older. I know that these worries and struggles will not end-for as long as I am a mom.
This is why I decided to start The Little Biri. The Little Biri is a project that’s close to my own heart, as a mother, as a friend, as a woman. After living in the UAE for the past 4 years, I have made some very good friends (with the most adorable children), and gift-giving has become something I am very passionate about. I love the whole idea of sending and receiving gifts, and I love spreading joy and happiness.
On to our Little Biri Products: Our blankets, quilts and toys were designed with MY children in mind. The cloths that our blankets are made of are baby safe, mostly organic, breathable, clean and of course, responsibly sourced. Every child is special, hence the personalization – we offer name embroidery with no extra charge with every purchase done via out website.
Your purchase will be wrapped in a wonderful gift box. The Little Biri Curated Gift Boxes are more than just about gift-giving. It’s the anticipation, it’s the excitement, it’s the joy of receiving, unwrapping, and discovering a wonderful gift that has been well thought-out and personalized for a child.
And as a business owner (and a MOM first), the business will focus on supporting other moms, and other women. Whether it is a women-run business, or a stay-at-home freelancer mom, or just a mom who’d come in for a chat. We aim to outsource, hire, support and work exclusively with women. After all, you and I know, if you have managed to keep your child healthy, all-rounded (and in one piece), nothing else is IMPOSSIBLE.
On behalf of all moms, I would like to sincerely THANK YOU for supporting this endeavor.
